Many campaigns have been put in place to tackle the social impacts of mobile devices. Like having viral ads to try and get people to interact with others in person more, to TV ads to help awareness about rape connected to social networks.
Recent laws have been introduced to help prevent incidents involving rape and hacking or getting hacked. Laws like this have only been introduced within the last ten years as there was no need of them before.
Social networking is done a lot at work places, that can severely reduce how well people work and the amount of work that gets done. To resolve this dilemma, companies put their own policies into place, this can vary from certain times people can access social networking like in lunch breaks, to no social networking at all in the work place. Each company can have different policies.
This can be put into place in schools, with consequences for phones being out at times which the schools policy forbids, their phone can be confiscated. These policies are a good way to combat how much phones and social networking can affect a workplace or school.
The data protection act allows for legitimacy and safety of people's and businesses' data whether that be confidential or public with copyright restrictions. This helps to prevent fraud and theft of data which could then be used for blackmail, personal gain, exploitation or fraud.

P7: "To send contact information from your phone (Info like your mobile number) to another phone, first you go into your phone's settings and find something like my profile, my number or this phone. Or you could get the number from a person who has your number.
Add the number and other contact info into a text, whether you type it in or copy and paste (an ability not many phones have) and finally send tat to the person's phone who you want it to be sent to. Or, if your phone has a direct "send to contact" feature for your data, you can select that."
I used this protocol as it allows for quick and easy access to your contact information from your phone. Texting the information on to the recipient is a quick and for the most part safe way of exchanging contact details over long distances. However most phones do not have integrated anti virus software. This means that undetected viruses can be transferred via text, this could then infect the recipients phone. A safer way to exchange contact details is via desktop or laptop, this is because they have build it firewalls and additional anti virus software such as Norton or Macafee can be used to scan emails for legitimacy or any possible viruses. If this were to e used to exchange contact info then you could still find the initial information via the phone's settings.

A feature of all the devices in P2 have battery charge lasting for different amounts of time.
hp pavillion g6: up to 4-5 hours
samsung galaxy nexus: up to 31 hours
MP3 player: up to 22 hours
Having a long battery charge is very good as it means that the device doesn't require charging as often making it more practical to use.
Another feature is memory capacity, which varies because of price and type of storage on the device. For example, the mp3 player has 2GB memory because it costs £31.95 and stores mp3 sound files which take up very little memory. The hp pavillion g6 has hard drive storage of 750GB because it has to store games with online capabilities, video, music, pictures, applications and more. Meaning it has to have a very large amount of memory. If a device is low on existing memory, it performs badly compared to if it had more memory left. The mp3 player has little memory so it cannot store a large amount even if what it does store uses minimal memory.

Computer: The 23.6" Maestro II £1,520
mouse: Anker® 8200 DPI High Precision Programmable Laser Gaming Mouse £26
OS: Windows 8.1 premium £100
Adobe photoshop CS6 £330
microsoft office 2013 £90
Printer: HP Designjet T120 Wireless Wi-Fi Large Format CAD Printer £680
The PC is an all in one and costs £1,520. Featuring a high speed dual core intel i7 processor, this would allow highly detailed graphics to be carried out at over 60fps and so that programs such as photoshop will open and perform to their maximum potential. This will also be possible with Windows 8 being the OS, windows 7 is too old to have many modern programs perform without frequent frame drops, Windows 8.1 as one of the newest and fastest OS on the market it will not suffer from any of these drawbacks. The monitor is 23.6" so highly detailed graphics can be viewed easily and at a very high res. Being a touchscreen it is also easy to edit graphics at will. The mouse is 8200 DPI so it is extremely precise in movement which will allow for precise customization of graphics also it is weight adjustable so it can be changed to suit the user perfectly. Microsoft office 2013 is the newest version of the reliable program and will be supported with updates after the previous versions become obsolete.Adobe photoshop CS6 is the newest version and performs better than any other graphics editors around at this time.
The printer can produce rich colors and sharp lines. TIFF image files are very highly detailed and are accepted as a photograph file standard for the printing business. This printer is capable of producing printed pictures and retain the detail of TIFF format images.

Compressing files:
Compressed files take up less storage space and can be transferred to other computers more quickly than uncompressed files. You can also combine several files into a single compressed folder. This makes it easier to share a group of files. Some types of files, like JPEG pictures, are already highly compressed. If you compress several JPEG pictures into a folder, the total size of the folder will be about the same as the original collection of pictures. The advantage of compressing an image is that if you are using these images on a website, then they will load faster since the file size will be dramatically reduced.
Graphic file compressors take away pixels. If you take away too many of them, then the quality of your image deteriorates. If one goes too far in the compression, then the picture becomes almost unrecognizable or is too pixelated to be of any use.
TIFF produces large files, but there is no loss in quality. TIFF also preserves layers, alpha transparency, and other special features when saved from Photoshop. BMPs are huge files, but there is no loss in quality, they contain pallettes of 4,294,967,296 possible colors. Use PNG when you need smaller file sizes with no loss in quality. PNG files are usually smaller than TIFFs. GIF files are always reduced to 256 unique colors or less and they make very small, fast loading graphics for the web.

While there are many positive aspects to the items included in P1, there are however downsides to these items.
The custom built zoomstorm mini PC is capable of most basic office work, however Adobe photoshop CS6, Adobe fireworks CS6 and Microsoft office 2012 are demanding software which may not be able to run at an optimum potential on the PC as the Intel celeron G1601 processor is not capable of running this software without occasional freezing and considerable drop in frame rate, this will slow down the work output.

The Samsung Simple LED 21.5” is very much Functional and with a stylish design. It is in a resolution of 1920x1080 meaning it offers a very high pixel count which will in turn allow for images created on photoshop to have as much detail as possible, however at £88 it is slightly above the average price for something of this quality meaning it isn't that cost effective.
The teckNet M002 wireless mouse is a very low cost at £9. However with this low cost also comes a very low DPI, making it less accurate than a mouse of a higher price. Also being a wireless mouse it requires external batteries which will need to be replaced around 5-8 times a year, this makes it less cost effective due to the cost of the batteries.
