D1, Task 1, Unit 14

A feature of all the devices in P2 have battery charge lasting for different amounts of time.
hp pavillion g6: up to 4-5 hours
samsung galaxy nexus: up to 31 hours
MP3 player: up to 22 hours

Having a long battery charge is very good as it means that the device doesn't require charging as often making it more practical to use.
Another feature is memory capacity, which varies because of price and type of storage on the device. For example, the mp3 player has 2GB memory because it costs £31.95 and stores mp3 sound files which take up very little memory. The hp pavillion g6 has hard drive storage of 750GB because it has to store games with online capabilities, video, music, pictures, applications and more. Meaning it has to have a very large amount of memory. If a device is low on existing memory, it performs badly compared to if it had more memory left. The mp3 player has little memory so it cannot store a large amount even if what it does store uses minimal memory.

D1, Unit35

Computer:   The 23.6" Maestro II £1,520
mouse:   Anker® 8200 DPI High Precision Programmable Laser Gaming Mouse £26
OS:   Windows 8.1 premium £100
Adobe photoshop CS6 £330
microsoft office 2013 £90
Printer:   HP Designjet T120 Wireless Wi-Fi Large Format CAD Printer £680

The PC is an all in one and costs £1,520. Featuring a high speed dual core intel i7 processor, this would allow highly detailed graphics to be carried out at over 60fps and so that programs such as photoshop will open and perform to their maximum potential. This will also be possible with Windows 8 being the OS, windows 7 is too old to have many modern programs perform without frequent frame drops, Windows 8.1 as one of the newest and fastest OS on the market it will not suffer from any of these drawbacks. The monitor is 23.6" so highly detailed graphics can be viewed easily and at a very high res. Being a touchscreen it is also easy to edit graphics at will. The mouse is 8200 DPI so it is extremely precise in movement which will allow for precise customization of graphics also it is weight adjustable so it can be changed to suit the user perfectly. Microsoft office 2013 is the newest version of the reliable program and will be supported with updates after the previous versions become obsolete.Adobe photoshop CS6 is the newest version and performs better than any other graphics editors around at this time.

The printer can produce rich colors and sharp lines. TIFF image files are very highly detailed and are accepted as a photograph file standard for the printing business. This printer is capable of producing printed pictures and retain the detail of TIFF format images.

D1 Unit 1

There are many safety issues when using blogs. One of the issues when blogging is that your account can be hacked into and some one may put information or say something you wouldn't put on it. A good way to avoid this is by setting up a good strong password that only you would know and no one could guess or easily figure out. To do this you could add numbers and even capitals somewhere in the password. Another problem is that people can email you with a virus which can cause problems for your computer. The best way to avoid this is to download a virus checker, which should be updated regularly, and regularly scan for viruses. Do not open emails of people you don't know. Also beware of some links as this may also have viruses.  You can also limit the people who can view your blog by only adding people you know and not because someone else knows them.
