M3, Task 6, Unit 14

Many campaigns have been put in place to tackle the social impacts of mobile devices. Like having viral ads to try and get people to interact with others in person more, to TV ads to help awareness about rape connected to social networks.

Recent laws have been introduced to help prevent incidents involving rape and hacking or getting hacked. Laws like this have only been introduced within the last ten years as there was no need of them before.

Social networking is done a lot at work places, that can severely reduce how well people work and the amount of work that gets done. To resolve this dilemma, companies put their own policies into place, this can vary from certain times people can access social networking like in lunch breaks, to no social networking at all in the work place. Each company can have different policies.

This can be put into place in schools, with consequences for phones being out at times which the schools policy forbids, their phone can be confiscated. These policies are a good way to combat how much phones and social networking can affect a workplace or school.

The data protection act allows for legitimacy and safety of people's and businesses' data whether that be confidential or public with copyright restrictions. This helps to prevent fraud and theft of data which could then be used for blackmail, personal gain, exploitation or fraud.
